CAREL reduces the environmental impact of Mega Image
CAREL, in collaboration with Technoelectric, supported the retailer Mega Image in implementing the Total-Store system for monitoring and optimising energy usage across 973 stores in Romania. Thanks to this innovative solution, the stores achieved a 14% reduction in overall energy consumption.
Total-Store integrates refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting technologies, enabling remote and centralised management of energy consumption areas in both new and existing stores. An analysis of a sample of stores showed a reduction in CO2 emissions of 6.39 kilotons, with estimated annual savings of €5.3 million.
Mega Image, a retailer part of the Ahold Delhaize group, chose CAREL for its ability to offer a scalable and flexible solution capable of real-time energy consumption monitoring and optimisation. The Total-Store system not only helps reduce energy consumption but also includes advanced features such as automatic HACCP reporting and remote diagnostics, improving resource management and reducing the need for on-site interventions.
"CAREL's goal is to provide solutions that enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact," said Michele Mohorovicich, Marketing Manager Refrigeration – EMEA at CAREL. "This collaboration with Technoelectric and Mega Image demonstrates the potential of centralised and scalable technologies in the transition towards more sustainable solutions."
