A new role for CAREL in the ASHRAE Global Conferences on HVAC/R
As of 1 July, Raul Simonetti, CAREL HVAC/R Corporate Business Manager, has been appointed as the new Chair of the CEC, the ASHRAE Conferences and Exposition Committee.
With more than 50,000 members from over 130 countries, ASHRAE’s mission is to drive innovation in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technologies and promote their sustainable use. The association’s tasks involve research, drafting of standards, publication, continuous training, and periodic meetings with representatives of the HVAC/R sector from all over the world, including CAREL, a long-time member. The CEC is the body within ASHRAE that is responsible for planning and implementation of all the conferences chaired by the association, proposing the topics and moderating the sessions.
Raul Simonetti commented: “My appointment as Chair of the CEC crowns 15 years of commitment to ASHRAE, during which time I have held various roles: from a simple member of the Technical Committee 5.11 “Humidification Equipment”, which I am still part of, to the more demanding role of Conference Chair of the 2022 ASHRAE Winter Conference. Being CEC Chair will allow me to make an active contribution, above all through the coordination of the 26 members of the CEC, to the organisation and success of ASHRAE’s conferences in the USA and around the world”.
