A journey through product development at CAREL, one of the big names in Lean

From 28 to 31 October, Lausanne will be hosting the Lean Product Development Industrial Networking and Learning Forum. The event is organised by the Lean Analytics Association, an organisation that assists companies in changing over to Lean Thinking, offering training and consulting services, and sharing best practices. The Forum will be held over three days, and provides a complete overview of lean product development: in short modules and parallel sessions, speakers will present consolidated models and virtuous practices.
The three day training event will commence with a session dedicated entirely to companies, who will share their own experiences. Alongside giants of the calibre of Airbus Defence and Space and Siemens, amongst others, CAREL will be describing its lean model and how this is applied to product development. Alberto Rosso, CAREL Lean Change Agent, will illustrate how the company has embraced lean philosophy to create more value for its customers and reduce waste within the organisation. A journey undertaken to ensure a sustainable future that can support continuous growth, in line with the company’s mission to develop high-efficiency solutions.
“Over the years, CAREL has persevered CAREL persevered with activities to improve the organisation of product development”, Alberto Rosso commented. “We introduced a multifunctional approach, compact teams and design standardisation. These dynamics brought about a drastic reduction in design times and an increase in quality. Still today, we continue to invest almost 20% of our time in the continual improvement of processes”.
