CAREL at LIGNA 2025: high-efficiency solutions for the wood industry

CAREL will participate in LIGNA 2025, the leading international trade fair for wood processing, taking place from May 26 to 30 in Hannover. The company will showcase advanced solutions for controlling environmental conditions in industrial processes.
CAREL’s offering for the sector includes humidification systems, heat recovery units, and integrated control of high-efficiency components, all designed to reduce energy consumption and improve the quality of finished products.
In drying processes, energy efficiency is crucial. CAREL offers solutions that integrate cross-flow heat exchangers and thermal break dampers, capable of recovering up to 70% of the heat from exhaust air and reducing flue losses. This optimization of processing cycles can significantly lower energy costs and reduce CO2 emissions by up to 50%.
Another key aspect of CAREL’s offering is heat pump technology: the high-efficiency solution—featuring BLDC compressors, DC inverters, electronic expansion valves, and integrated sensors—is compatible with natural refrigerants and A3 ready. It enables efficient and sustainable condensation drying, with optimal control of temperature and humidity. The offering is completed by a range of programmable controllers and customizable proprietary software for the development of high value-added solutions.
Finally, relative humidity is a critical factor in wood processing. CAREL provides a complete range of humidifiers, such as heaterSteam, ideal for compact drying chambers, and humiFog, a high-pressure adiabatic atomizer for large industrial environments. These solutions ensure wood stability, preventing defects such as cracking, warping, and issues with gluing and finishing.
