Efficiency and reliability in Food Retail Business

The ‘9th Middle East Cold Chain Food Safety Conference’ will be held on Monday 21 January in Dubai. Through a mix of presentations and panel discussions, the conference aims to address the issue of food safety to improve people’s health and well-being, as well as the profitability of supermarkets. Special attention will be paid to cold chain design, with presentation of best practices by OEMs regarding reliable and energy-efficient cold rooms. Another topic of discussion will be the implementation of Internet of Things and its applications in this area.

CAREL will be taking part through the presentation entitled ‘Efficiency and Reliability in Food Retail Business’ by Mirko Travaglin, Marketing Manager Refrigeration - EMEA Region. “The food retail business is influenced by the rapid changes in modern society, including urbanisation, convenience and proximity”, Travaglin stated. “The increasing growth of small and medium format supermarkets requires implementation of new technologies to ensure complete control over food storage and, at the same time, energy savings. Sustainability and data analysis are vital resources for supermarket chains in the new food retail scenario”.
