CAREL Knowledge Center to lead the next ASHRAE Conference

CAREL Knowledge Center to lead the next ASHRAE Conference

Raul Simonetti, CAREL’s HVAC/R Corporate Business Manager, will be the technical chair at the 2022 ASHRAE Winter Conference. The conference program will highlight topics selected by Raul in collaboration with ASHRAE and summarised by the title of the event: “Holism and Perspectives towards Decarbonization”. The conference will be held in Las Vegas from 29 January to 2 February and will address issues of interest for the entire HVAC/R sector, with specific focus on the resources of the future and their use. In the sessions, documents and programs will be presented on conserving and saving energy and resources in general, integrating energy sources and improving indoor air quality, and will explore the challenges and opportunities in different locations, applications, and processes.

The basis for the conference is to share knowledge, perspectives, and new solutions, and consequently it will include technical presentations, seminars, workshops, forums, and debates. The presentations and discussions will be divided by topic and will aim to provide answers and ideas with the common goal of and commitment to decarbonisation. Topics include management and integration of the different energy sources inside buildings, whether residential, commercial, or industrial, the role of natural and non-natural refrigerants in maximising performance, and their specific use in refrigeration systems based on the application.

“The decarbonisation of buildings involves processes and activities relating to HVAC/R and is a necessary step in limiting the rise in global average temperatures to 1.5°C by the end of the century,” Raul Simonetti commented. “The 2022 winter conference program has been designed to allow experts to present HVAC/R solutions and technologies that target these goals, within the legislative constraints and considering the growing attention to indoor air quality.
