CAREL celebrates success at the 2024 AIRAH Awards with Heosbox CO₂ technology
CAREL celebrates the success of the Woolworths Metro Gadsen project, winner at the 2024 AIRAH Awards held on 21 November in Melbourne. The project, centred on CAREL's Heosbox CO2 technology, an advanced CO2 Waterloop system, earned two prestigious recognitions in the Excellence in Refrigeration and Excellence in Sustainability categories.
At the heart of the project is Heosbox CO2 and its combination of energy efficiency, sustainability, and reliability. This water-cooled condensing unit is designed for subcritical applications in commercial refrigeration. Thanks to BLDC variable-speed compressors and electronic expansion valves, the solution ensures continuous modulation and precise control, maintaining thermal stability and optimal food preservation quality. An additional strength of Heosbox CO2 lies in its advanced IoT functionalities and connectivity. The system offers local and remote monitoring, predictive analytics, and dedicated services, enabling proactive management, operational reliability, and a significant reduction in maintenance costs.
The AIRAH Awards are among the most prestigious honours in Australia’s HVAC&R industry, celebrating excellence in refrigeration, renewable energy, and technological innovation. Submissions are assessed by an independent panel of experts, recognising projects and solutions that exemplify the highest standards of quality and sustainability in the sector.
Kevin Marr, CAREL Australia Managing Director and Member of the International Executive Committee, commented: “We are thrilled that our Heosbox CO2 solution played a fundamental role in the success of this project. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to delivering high efficiency, sustainable solutions for the HVAC&R sector. The exceptional expertise and support from both the CAREL Australia and the CAREL Headquarters HEOS teams was a key factor in achieving this result and a special thanks goes to them.”
